Scope
This notice describes how information is handled when you use the public website at unitbureau.com (the "site"). Unit Bureau is an independent editorial registry project. There is no storefront, wallet, or payment processing on this site.
What we may receive
- Technical metadata. Like most sites, hosting and delivery infrastructure can create routine logs (for example IP address, user agent, timestamps, and requested URLs) needed to operate and secure the service. Retention depends on the hosting environment; we do not use those logs to build individual profiles for advertising.
- Email and forms. If you use the contact form, the listing submission form, or contact@unitbureau.com, your message is delivered through our mail relay provider and appears in the desk inbox like a normal email. Keep sensitive secrets out of email unless you accept email risk.
- Cookies and local storage. The site is built to be readable without accounts. Any strictly necessary cookies or storage used for basic operation (for example preferences) are minimal. We do not run cross-site behavioral ad networks on this property. If you choose to allow it, we may load Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for aggregated usage understanding; that choice is stored in a first-party cookie named
ub_consent(typically one year). Rejecting keeps those tools off in your browser until you clear cookies or change the value.
Why we use information
To publish the registry and research, respond to corrections and inquiries, keep the site reliable, and fix abuse when it appears.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Data you send by email stays with the mailbox and any standard backups tied to that system. Infrastructure providers may process technical metadata solely as needed to host the site.
Your choices
For access, correction, or deletion requests related to information you sent us, use the contact form or write to contact@unitbureau.com with enough detail to find the thread. We will respond when we can; this is a small desk, not an automated ticketing platform.
Children
The site is aimed at adults making business and operational decisions. It is not directed at children.
Changes
When this notice changes in a material way, we will update the date above and keep the substance honest.
