Unit Bureau exists because operators ask a practical question: where does this actually work? The payments industry has no shortage of marketing claims. It has a shortage of neutral, structured visibility into acceptance, settlement pathways, and evidence.
We sit beside processors, not inside them. The registry is editorial and analytic. It will be wrong sometimes, which is why every profile carries review dates, evidence notes, and clear status language.

Stewardship
Unit Bureau is stewarded transparently through published standards, documented methodology, and accountable leadership.
The registry is currently led by its founding steward, Areeb Mianoor, a Toronto-based product leader with experience across digital identity, domains, AI products, payments-adjacent infrastructure, and internet-scale discovery systems.
As the registry matures, Unit Bureau intends to expand its Stewardship Board to include qualified contributors across payments, compliance, stablecoin infrastructure, merchant operations, cross-border commerce, and financial technology.
